General Meeting of Association of Clinical Trials Organizations (ACTO)

Contract research organization "Kendle Clinical Development Services Limited" that shares ACTO goals and objectives was admitted to membership.

"The total number of members has reached 20, and now Association consolidate 30% of clinical trials and 40% of participating patients in Russia", said ACTO Executive Director Svetlana Zavidova.

The agenda of the meeting also included the opening of the hot line for the patients participating in clinical trials. ACTO proposed members and non-members to use the hot line number in the patient information as a source of information about trial subjects rights.

Most of time was dedicated to the discussion of The Federal Law "On Circulation of Medicines", that comes into force September 1, 2010. The participants outlined the most important problems and agreed to hold another Meeting before September, 1 to work out a joint position.
